1/100th Scale VIRGINIA Class Remote Control Submarine
This 1/100th scale VIRGINIA Class submarine was 100% self designed. The submarine is fully functional with wireless operation, a custom ballast tank system, forward and reverse thrust, and rudder and elevator control. The submarine is approximately 36 inches in length and 3.75 inches in diameter. Each section of the hull is 3D printed using my personal 3D printer. Two 9 gram servos provide the motion for rudder and elevator control. A 1000 KV brushless motor drives the custom designed propeller to a maximum of 12000 RPM. Two miniature DC electric diaphragm pumps control the flow of water to and from the rubber bladder ballast tank. Click the images to expand them!
